WHO WE ARE
Astley & Buckshaw JFC was founded in 2004 and strive to provide a fun, friendly and inclusive environment for children of the local community to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle through sport.
The club currently support over 350 children from 6 – 18 playing football on a weekly basis with help from our 40 + qualified coaches. For children ages 4 – 6 we run a Saturday morning early development session called Tiger Cubs.
HOW WE PLAY
Whilst individual teams will play in their own style all of our teams hold the values of Respect, Teamwork and Sportsmanship central to everything they do.
Success is measured by the smiles on the faces and the development of the players across the FA 4 corner model rather than results.
HOW WE SUPPORT
All teams will have a minimum of a FA Level 1 coach running the team, often teams will have multiple qualified coaches and in some cases Level 2 and UEFA B qualified coaches. Specialist Goalkeeper training is offered to all prospective goalkeepers from the age of 11.
The club provides winter training facilities on the Westway Sports hub for 30 weeks across winter, guaranteeing regular training on the best facilities in the area.
All coaches are encouraged to continue their coaching education and are supported with in house training sessions and can also benefit from our links with Lancashire FA for external education.
Coaches are encouraged to deliver coaching sessions following block learning model and have the in house Coach Development Officer to help them with this and others areas of development.
