New look for ABJFC unveiled…

Astley and Buckshaw Junior Football Club is proud to unveil its new club crest.

Following our historic 20th anniversary celebrations, and another record year of participation at all levels of the club, ABJFC has revealed its new badge for the 2024/25 onwards.

The crest reflects the club’s identity within the community, representing Astley Village with its familiar “AV” logo, and the canons to represent the Royal Ordnance site that became Buckshaw Village.

The familiar blue rose remains at the heart of the badge, and the year 2004 reminds all of the heritage and legacy of the club.

Badges to appear on new kits from the 2024/25 season

The badge will appear on all new kits from the start of the 2024/25 season, and as part of our new partnership with TeamStop we’ll also see it on club merchandise.

The old club crest will be gradually retired after serving us well for the last couple of decades.

Club Chair Darren Marsden said: “We’ve had a huge 12 months, and our 20th anniversary celebrations were a great time to reflect on everything we’ve achieved as a club.

“From record membership, league and cup wins, a 500% increase in girls teams provision, and the visit of Real Madrid, its been a monumental year.

“One of the things we wanted to look at was ensuring our local identity was clear in everything we did – we’re proud ambassadors for the local area, and wanted to see that represented on our crest.

“We feel the new badge represents the area much more clearly, acknowledges its history, while also maintaining the elements that make ABJFC so identifiable as a local junior football club.

“Keen historians will also recognise elements of the badge secured from Royal Ordnance artefacts, which shows the depth of history the area has to offer.

“With our new partnership with The TeamStop getting underway, we believe now is the perfect time to unveil this new look.”

Expect to see plenty more of our new crest over the coming months.
