Astley and Buckshaw Junior FC was established in 2004 of the back of a Football Foundation grant applied for by a residents group from Astley Village, spearheaded by local Councillor Mark Perks.
The growth of the club demonstrates how football can be used to help build a sustainable society and form strong links within communities.
Today the football club provides the ability for over 250 children to play football, across 15 teams, 9 age groups in various leagues in additional too running a development program for 4 to 6 year olds.
The club is run by volunteers and has an open to all policy, we proudly stand by our strap line of “We strive for fun and enjoyment in a safe and friendly environment, not results”.
